YALE is now known as Rapid Miner

Please see the Rapid Miner page for details of the software formally known as YALE

Historic Information

YALE supports the process of experiment design and evaluation. Read the introduction or the documentation if you want to learn more about YALE. Of course you can just download YALE and use it or perform the online tutorial available in the program.

YALE is an environment for machine learning experiments. A modular operator concept allows the design of complex nested operator chains for a huge number of learning problems. The data handling is transparent to the operators. They do not have to cope with the actual data format or different data views - the YALE core takes care of the necessary transformations. YALE is widely used by researchers and data mining companies.

Use YALE and explore your data! Simplify the construction of experiments and the evaluation of different approaches. Try to find the best combination of preprocessing and learning steps or let YALE do that automatically for you. The graphical user interface and the XML based scripting language turn YALE into an IDE for machine learning and data mining. Furthermore, this concept defines a standardized interchange format for data mining experiments.

Name YALE
Brief Summary YALE is an environment for machine learning experiments and data mining. Experiments can be made up of a large number of arbitrarily nestable operators and their setup is described by XML files which can easily be created with a graphical user interface. Applications of YALE cover both research and real-world data mining tasks.
